We had a good turnout for the June meeting, 44 in attendance. Thanks to Fr. Louis Gootee Council at Nativity for a great meal. Special thanks goes to Scott Schutte for cooking, Rick Santangelo for setting it up, and Jim Bornhorst and Keith Rooney for their service and clean up.

 

ROSARY INTENTIONS: Sick Committee Chairman Tom Donaldson read the list of deceased and sick SK’s and relatives.

OTHER INTENTIONS: Our Holy Father, Bishops and Clergy, Service men and women, firefighters and police, families of the Minnesota Bridge disaster and for the Canonization of Fr. Michael J. McGivney.

 

Fr. Michael Magiera led the Assembly in the sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.

 

NEW MEMBERS: Ron Malan and his son Tom Malan, both sponsored by Ken Konklin, Welcome to our Assembly.

 

Acting Faithful Friar Fr. Michael Magiera delivered “Words of Wisdom” and urged the Assembly to actively recruit younger men for membership in the order and “lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor” as the prayer for the canonization of Fr. McGivney states that Fr. McGivney did. Fr. Magiera recently attended several Ordinations and asked the Assembly to recommit to support our priests always, and to plant the seeds for vocations as often as possible. He also advised he was available to the members for help or service required.

 

Faithful Navigator Nate Schallert is trying to locate 3 sets of cd’s on the Life or Fr. McGivney and to get them circulating throughout the membership. If you have one, bring it to the next meeting. The title is “Parish Priest Michael McGivney and American Catholicism”.

The Ordination of the Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette was discussed. FN Nate Schallert will investigate.

 

Chapter Activities Indians game Thursday June 10th, 5:00 dinner at Mater Dei, Game at 7:00

 

Joe Toth read the Trustees slate of officer nominations for the second time, and requested nominations from the floor for all positions 3 times. No additional nominations were made so the Trustees nominations were elected unanimously by a vote of the Faithful Scribe as follows:

Conflicts to the proposed date for the Installation of Officers for 2010/2011 were identified and discussed.

 

State Historian Joe Gawry advised that the K of C Museum was moved to the front building at the Gibault School and invited everyone to visit the Museum.

 

State Secretary Earl Riggen advised the dates for the next Exemplification will be at 8-28 and 8-29 at South Bend Indiana.
